Children’s Secretary appears before Committee

Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families appears before the Children, Schools and Families Committee at 5pm to give evidence on the appointment of the Chief Regulator and Chair of Ofqual, the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator.

Also appearing before the Committee will be David Bell, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
The purpose of the session is to examine the Department’s policy in not inviting the Committee to hold a pre-appointment hearing with Kathleen Tattersall OBE before her appointment as Chief Regulator on 9 December 2009.
