Members of the House of Lords contributed to a discussion on the case for a fairer and more progressive tax system on 28 January.

Tax rates and banking reforms, tax reliefs, income tax, VAT, economic inequality, housing and first-time buyers and local taxation were among subjects discussed.

In the House of Lords Members may table questions for debate, usually up to two hours and a half, on a specific issue or matter of concern.
