Lords debate: obesity

Progress made in combating obesity among young people will be debated in the House of Lords tomorrow.
The debate will be opened by Lord Pendry (Labour), a former boxer and MP, who is president of the Football Foundation, the UK’s largest sports charity.
Baroness Walmsley, Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Children, Schools and Families and an office holder in many voluntary organisations including the NSPCC and the Children’s Rights Alliance for England, is also taking part in the debate.
The Bishop of Bradford and Earl Howe, who is the Opposition spokesperson for Health, will also speak in the debate. Baroness Thornton will speak on behalf of the Government.
