MPs debate sporting events available on free-to-air TV

John Grogan, Labour MP for Selby, opened a debate in Westminster Hall on the Davis review of free-to-air events - sporting occasions that must be available to free-to-air television. Siôn Simon, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, replied to the debate.

Mr Simon told MPs that Culture Secretary, Ben Bradshaw, has provisionally arrived at the conclusion that he will accept the recommendations in the Davis Review - which proposes a revised A list of protected sporting events - but that he will consider the implications for sporting bodies and grass-roots sport.
A consultation on the Review is currently in progress and will end on 6 March.
