Parliamentary Outreach will host free training sessions for voluntary organisations in Norwich and Birmingham on 26 January 2010.

Each event will demonstrate the variety of ways in which voluntary organisations can engage effectively with the work of the House of Commons and House of Lords.

The events are being organised in partnership with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). On the same day, the NCVO hosts its campaigns conference, 'A New Politics', at Central Hall Westminster.

Details of each venue are as follows:

Norwich: 10am to 2pm

Norwich City Football Club, Carrow Road, Norwich NR1 1JE

Birmingham: 10am to 2pm

Birmingham City Football Club, St. Andrews Stadium, Birmingham B9 4RL

By the end of each event, participants will:

  • learn how to engage with Parliament on the issues you care about
  • be familiar with the various ways you can get involved with Parliamentary processes
  • know more about how Parliamentary Outreach can help your organisation.

All workshops are free and places are available on a 'first come, first served' basis. Each event includes refreshments and networking opportunities.

To find out more about the event or if you are interested in attending, please contact Rob Wardle at parliamentaryoutreach@parliament.uk or call 07917 488466.
