Bribery Bill: Lords report stage

Members of the House of Lords discussed the report stage - further line by line examination - of the Bribery Bill on 2 February
Clauses 4-16 were discussed on issues including bribery of foreign public officials, failure of commercial organisations to prevent bribery, penalties and defence for certain bribery offences.

The Government's Bribery Bill aims to reform the criminal law to provide a new scheme of bribery offences which will enable courts and prosecutors to respond more effectively to bribery at home or abroad.
Third reading - the final chance for the Lords to amend the Bill - is scheduled for 9 February.
