The Department has introduced an interim code of practice covering privacy, health and safety, data protection and equality. Airports will have to do the scanning sensitively, and observe the rights of passengers.
The Department is launching a full public consultation on the new rules and will consider all representations before publishing a Final Code of Practice later in the year.
