Equality Bill: Lords report stage

Members of the House of Lords discussed the report stage - further line by line examination - of the Equality Bill on 2 March.
Clauses 1-214 were discussed on issues covering socio-economic inequalities, civil partnerships, direct and indirect discrimination, the gender pay gap, positive action on recruitment and promotion, and the public sector equality duty.
Three votes on amendments (proposals for change) to the Bill took place with a Government defeat on the issue of civil partnerships on religious premises.
