Members of the House of Lords contributed to a discussion on 4 March covering International Women's Day and the global celebration of the economic, political and social achievements of women

International Women's Day falls on 8 March and the debate in the Lords highlighted topics including education and gender equality, family-friendly policies and the role of women in business, industry, parliamentary and public life.

In the House of Lords Members may table questions for debate, usually up to two hours and a half, on a specific issue or matter of concern.
