On 30 March the Sunbeds (Regulation) Private Members Bill passed second reading, the debate on general principles, in the House of Lords.

The Sunbeds Bill places a duty on sunbed businesses to prevent use of sunbeds by under-18s, and provides for local authorities to enforce this duty. The Bill was introduced in the House of Commons by Julie Morgan, MP for Cardiff North, and sponsored in the House of Lords by Baroness Finlay of Llandaff.

No date has yet been scheduled for the committee stage, allowing detailed examination of the Bill.
