On Tuesday 6 April Members of the House of Lords held a short debate on the future of the pig industry in the United Kingdom
Lord Palmer opened the debate with a question about the Government's actions to address the "long-term decline of the British pig industry", and Lord Davies of Oldham concluded the debate with a response as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Several peers with experience in agriculture and farming took part in the debate.
Questions for short debate can be tabled by any Member, and usually last 60 to 90 minutes.
