Bishop of Derby introduced in the House of Lords

The Rt Revd Dr Alastair Redfern Bishop of Derby took his seat in the House of Lords, following short introduction ceremony at the beginning of business on 15 June.

The introduction ceremony must take place in the Lords Chamber before each new Member is able to take their seat in the House. During the ceremony, new Members either swear or solemnly affirm their allegiance to the Queen; they also sign an undertaking to abide by the House of Lords Code of Conduct.
