Change to Commons sitting time for Tuesday 27 July 2010

Usually the House of Commons sits at 2.30pm on a Tuesday but the Commons have agreed to sit at 11.30am on Tuesday 27 July.  It is expect that Tuesday 27 July will be the last sitting day before the start of the Summer recess. The House of Lords will continue to sit until Wednesday 28 July before it will adjourn for the Summer recess. 

Westminster Hall

The timing of Private Members' adjournment debates in Westminster Hall has also been changed. Debates will begin at 9.30am and continue until 11.30am. The sitting will be suspended from 11.30am to 2.30pm. Debates will then resume at 2.30pm and will contine until 5pm.

Visiting

UK residents and overseas visitors can come and watch Parliament at work for free. Members of the public can attend debates on current issues or proposed new laws from the public galleries when the Houses are sitting.
