The House of Commons was adjourned on 27 July 2010 for the summer recess. The Commons will return on 6 September for two weeks and adjourn for the Conference recess.  The Commons will return on 11 October. The Backbench Business Committee chose to hold a pre-recess Adjournment debate entitled 'Summer Adjournment'

The Summer Adjournment debate provides an opportunity for MPs to debate issues that they have not been able to raise elsewhere, either because they have not been called to speak in a debate or because they have been unsuccessful in securing an Adjournment debate.
