Local Government Bill: report stage

The Local Government Bill completed its report stage – line by line examination – in the House of Lords on Wednesday 28 July. The Lords adjourned at the end of business for the summer recess and is due to return on 5 October.

There was a division on amendment 4 to clause 2: Extent, commencement and short title, moved by Baroness Hollis of Heigham. The amendment was defeated.

The third reading of the Local Government Bill is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 6 October.
