Open House Weekend 2010

This weekend Portcullis House opens its doors to the public as part of London's Open House Weekend on 18 and 19 September
Members of the public can:
- visit Portcullis House's ground floor courtyard, first floor committee and meeting rooms
- view the Election Project 2010 exhibition by Simon Roberts, the official election artist
- meet the building's architects from Michael Hopkins and Partners
- talk to the Clock Tower team and find out more about Big Ben
- learn how Parliament works with staff from the Commons and Lords Information Offices
- listen to talks about the work of the Committee Office and the Official Report (Hansard)
- discover how to get to get involved with the work of Parliament with staff from Parliamentary Outreach
Parliament has taken part in Open House Weekend since 2001 and last year welcomed nearly 5000 visitors.
How to visit
Portcullis House will be open from 10am-5pm (last entry: 4.30pm) on Saturday and Sunday.
Enter via the building's main entrance on Victoria Embankment.
Refreshments will be available between 10am and 4.30pm.

Open House Weekend gives the public the chance to see inside over 600 architecturally significant buildings which are not generally freely open to all.
It aims to raise awareness of great buildings and invites people to understand, explore and appreciate architecture in London.
