Lords debates higher education funding

On 27 October Members of the Lords debated the findings of Lord Browne of Madingley's Independent Review of Higher Education Funding and Student Finance.

The debate was opened by Baroness Wilcox (Conservative), government spokesperson at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Lord Browne of Madingley also spoke as part of the debate. Contributions from the opposition front bench came from opposition spokesperson for Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Lord Triesman.

Further information

The Independent Review of Higher Education Funding and Student Finance was launched on 9 November 2009. The review was tasked with making recommendations to the government on the future of fees policy and financial support for full and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The final report was published on 12 October 2010.
