Parliament holds advanced legislation seminar
8 October 2010
Parliamentary Outreach will hold a free advanced legislation seminar in London on Monday 8 November, which will cover amendments to Bills, European and delegated legislation.
The event forms part of Parliament’s efforts to encourage engagement with legislative scrutiny. The seminar is being held in response to feedback received at recent Public Bill workshops.
What the advanced legislation seminar will cover
The workshop will include information on:
- the processes by which delegated and European legislation are scrutinised and made
- how amendments are introduced and selected
- what opportunities exist for engagement and influence
The workshop is free to attend and open to any individual or organisation with an interest in learning more about the subjects covered. A basic level of Parliamentary understanding will be assumed.
Where and when
The event will take place in Portcullis House on the Parliamentary estate from 9am until 12 midday. Registration will take place between 9am and 9.30am, with the first presentation beginning at 9.30am.
