Thomas Docherty, Labour MP for Dunfermline and West Fife, moved a motion to adjourn the House of Commons on Monday 1 November on the subject of options for maintenance of the new Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers.

Adjournment debates allow the Commons to hold a general open-ended debate on a subject or a government policy without reaching a formal decision about it.
