The Superannuation Bill began its report stage in the House of Lords – further line-by-line examination – on Wednesday 1 December.

Lord Brett (Labour) opened the debate and Lord Wallace of Saltaire responded on behalf of the government.
Members discussed and agreed to amendments to clause 2: Consultations in relation to civil service compensation scheme modifications; and clause 4: Final provisions.
There was a division on an amendment to clause 3: Limits on value of benefits provided under civil service compensation scheme, but the motion was not agreed to.
