Lords Commissioner for Standards publishes first annual report

The House of Lords Independent Commissioner for Standards, Paul Kernaghan, has today published his first annual report covering the period from 2 June 2010 to 31 May 2011
The report details the number of complaints received in that period and indicates how the complaints were resolved.
In his forward to the report the Commissioner outlines the background to the creation of his post and states that the new structure is ‘more transparent and independent than previous arrangements.’

The House of Lords Commissioner for Standards is Paul Kernaghan CBE QPM, who was appointed on 2 June 2010. He was previously Chief Constable of the Hampshire Constabulary from 1999 until 2008.
