The House of Lords is presently on its Christmas break (recess) until Tuesday 10 January 2012.

Members started line by line scrutiny - the committee stage - of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill a couple of days before the break (Tuesday 20 December) and will resume their discussions on the first day of business on 10 January.

On Wednesday 11 January, Lords will turn their attentions to the Welfare Reform Bill with day three of the report stage, when further considerations of bill amendments will take place.

Members completed the committee stage of the Health and Social Care Bill the day before recess and the bill is expected to enter the report stage in the new year.

Business plans are provisional and subject to change.
