Statement on Sex Offenders Register

Secretary of State for the Home Department, Theresa May, made a statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday 16 February on the sex offenders register.
The statement followed a Supreme Court ruling on the sex offenders register made in April 2010.
This specifically ruled that the established practice of sex offenders signing the register for life breached their human rights as it did not grant them the opportunity to seek a review.
