New Members join Lords

Conservative Life peer Lord Gold and Liberal Democrat Life peer Lord Storey took thier seats in the House of Lords following short introduction ceremonies at the beginning of business on Thursday 3 February.

The introduction ceremony must take place in the Lords Chamber before each new Member is able to take their seat in the House.

During the ceremony, new Members either swear an oath or solemnly affirm their allegiance to the Queen; they also sign an undertaking to abide by the House of Lords Code of Conduct.

Liberal Democrat Life peer Baroness Tyler of Enfield, Crossbench peer Lord Stirrup and Labour Life peer Baroness Lister of Burtersett.

Labour Life peers Baroness King of Bow and Lord Noon, and Liberal Democrat Life peer Baroness Randerson.
