Parliament to hold event for public servants

The event, which is now fully subscribed, is being held in partnership with the FDA’s Professionalism and Skills Project and will take place in the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House on Wednesday 23 March.

It is open to all staff of government departments and public bodies and is intended to be the first of a national series of events for public servants.

What Parliament for Public Servants will cover

The event will feature presentations from:

• Introduction to Parliament
  Rt Hon David Heath MP, Deputy Leader of the House of Commons
• The Legislative Process
  Tom Healey, Parliamentary Adviser, Cabinet Office
• The work of the House of Lords
  Lord Kirkwood, Chairman of the Information Committee, House of Lords
• Why scrutiny matters
  Natascha Engel MP, Chair of the Backbench Business Committee, House of Commons

Where and when

The event will take place in the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House in the Houses of Parliament and runs from 9am to 12.30pm.
