Pete Wishart, SNP MP for Perth and North Perthshire, moved a debate in Westminster Hall on Thursday 7 July on the subject of intellectual property

The debate follows the publication of an independent review of intellectual property by Professor Ian Hargreaves in May 2011.

Minister for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong learning, John Hayes responded to the debate on behalf of the Government. Watch and read the views expressed by MPs during the debate via the links to Parliament TV and Commons Hansard.

Westminster Hall debates

Westminster Hall adjournment debates allow MPs to discuss issues of local or personal interest which rarely have time to be debated in the main Chamber of the House of Commons. MPs can discuss a variety of issues and receive a response from a government Minister.
