Statement on Defence Reform

Secretary of State for Defence, Dr Liam Fox, made a statement in the House of Commons on Defence Reform on Monday 27 June.

The statement followed the publication of the independent report by Lord Levene and his steering group into the way in which the Ministry of Defence is structured and managed.
Lord Levene's report recommended a new approach to the management of defence, including the establishment of a new Joint Forces Command.

Defence Committee Inquiry
The Defence Committee is currently conducting an inquiry into the outcomes of the Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) within the wider context of the National Security Strategy (NSS).
