Statement on prevent strategy for counter-terrorism

Secretary of State for the Home Department, Theresa May, made a statement to the House of Commons on Tuesday 7 June on the Government's Prevent Strategy for counter-terrorism.
Prevent strategy
The Prevent strategy, was launched in 2007 and seeks to stop people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism both in the UK and overseas. It is the preventative strand of the government’s counter-terrorism strategy, CONTEST.

Review of counter-terrorism policy
The Home Secretary made two previous statements on the review of the government's counter-terrorism strategy in July 2010 and in January 2011.
