Statement on Sentencing Reform and Legal Aid

Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, Ken Clarke made a statement to the House of Commons on sentencing reform and Legal Aid on Tuesday 21 June 2011.
The Lord Chancellor outlined the Government responses to two recent consultations on plans to reform punishment, rehabilitation and sentencing of offenders, and on Legal Aid in England and Wales.
He also introduced the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill.
Shadow Lord Chancellor, Secretary of State for Justice Sadiq Khan, responded to the statement on behalf of the opposition.
