Members of the House of Lords and senior journalists discussed the interaction between religion and politics in the contemporary world in the latest River Room seminar.

Lord Sacks, the Chief Rabbi, Lord Harries of Pentregarth, a retired Bishop of Oxford, and Lord Parekh, political philosopher gave short introductory speeches. Debate then opened up to the floor on the impact of religion on contemporary global and domestic politics, the interaction of faith with political structures and institutions and the place of religion in public life.
