25 March 2011 (updated on 25 March 2011)
Foreign Secretary, William Hague, made a statement to the House of Commons on Thursday 24 March on North Africa and the Middle East.
Mr Hague told MPs that the Government was taking 'robust action to implement UN Security Council resolution 1973, which authorised military action to put in place a no-fly zone to prevent air attacks on Libyan people and taking all necessary measures to stop attacks on civilians while ruling out an occupation force.'
The Shadow Foreign Secretary, Douglas Alexander, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
