Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, William Hague, moved a debate on the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan on Monday 16 May 2011
The debate focused on the possibility of democratic transition in the state of Libya and emerging democratic forces in the countries concerned.
The Foreign Secretary updated the Commons with recent developments in Afghanistan and provided a quarterly report on progress in the country.
Shadow Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, John Spellar, responded to the debate on behalf of the Opposition.
