Mark Reckless, Conservative MP for Rochester and Strood, introduced a Backbench Business debate in the House of Commons on Tuesday 19 May on Eurozone financial assistance

He expressed his concern about the UK helping to bail out Eurozone countries in financial difficulties.

Mark Hoban, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, responded to the debate on behalf of the Government.

Backbench Business Committee

The House of Commons established the Backbench Business Committee on 15 June 2010. The Committee has responsibility for scheduling debates that are devoted to backbench business in the House of Commons Chamber and Westminster Hall.
