Statement on the McNulty Report and West Coast Rail

Secretary of State for Transport, Philip Hammond, made a statement to the House of Commons on 19 May about the publication of Sir Roy McNulty's study into value for money in the rail industry.
McNulty Report
Sir Roy McNulty was asked by the previous Government and the Office of Rail Regulation to conduct an independent study into rail value for money. Sir Roy made a number of recommendations in his report which are now being considered by the Government.

West Coast Rail
The Transport Secretary also announced in his statement the publication of a draft invitation to tender and a stakeholder briefing document for the intercity west coast rail franchise.
