New Members join House of Lords

Crossbench life Peers Lord Singh of Wimbledon and Lord Curry of Kirkharle took their seats in the House of Lords following short introduction ceremonies at the beginning of business on Monday 24 October.

The introduction ceremony must take place in the Lords Chamber before each new Member is able to take their seat in the House. During the ceremony, the new Member confirms their party or group affiliation and takes an oath of allegiance or similar affirmation.

The House of Lords Appointments Commission announced the appointment of Dr Indarjit Singh, Director of the Network of Sikh Organisations UK and Sir Donald Curry, Chair of National Farming Union Mutual Insurance Society and non-executive on 5 September.
