Cabinet Secretary's Report

The report by the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O'Donnell, was published on the Cabinet Office website along with other related documents.

Oral statements

Oral statements are made after Question Time (or at 11am on a Friday). Statements normally relate to matters of policy or government actions. At the end of a statement, MPs can respond or question the government minister on its contents.

Personal statements

Personal statements are occasionally made in the House of Commons, for example, by an MP who has resigned as a Minister or wishes to correct an error in a statement they have made to the House of Commons. These statements can only be made with permission of the Speaker.
