MPs debate scientific advice in emergencies

Andrew Miller, Labour MP for Ellesmere Port and Neston, and Chair of the Science and Technology Committee moved an adjournment debate in Westminster Hall on Thursday 15 September on the Committee's report on scientific advice and evidence in emergencies.
Scientific advice and evidence in emergencies
The debate follows the publication of the Third Report of the Science and Technology Committee, Session 2010-12, on scientific advice and evidence in emergencies on 02 March 2011.
The report examined how scientific advice and evidence is used in national emergencies, when the Government and scientific advisory system are put under pressure to deal with atypical situations. The Government published its response to the report on 17 May 2011.
