Abu Qatada
The Home Secretary announced that the Jordanian terror suspect, Abu Qatada, has been detained by officers from the UK Border Agency and served notice that deportation proceedings have been resumed against him.
In January, the European Court of Human Rights ruled against his deportation to Jordan where he stands accused of terrorism offences. The Home Secretary last updated the House on Abu Qatada's status in February.
Shadow Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
