Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, made a statement in the House of Commons on 23 April on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring meetings.

The Chancellor outlined the Government's decision to loan the IMF £10 billion pounds to boost the IMF's reserves.
Ed Balls, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
