Statement on the European Council meeting

Prime Minister, David Cameron, made a statement in the House of Commons on Tuesday 31 January on the informal summit of the European Council on Monday 30 January.

The Prime Minister outlined matters discussed at the meeting including measures needed to restore Europe’s competitiveness; the separate intergovernmental treaty on fiscal discipline in the eurozone; and, the statement issued on Iran, Syria and Burma.
