Statement on the UK Border Agency
21 February 2012
Secretary of State for the Home Department, Theresa May, made a statement in the House of Commons on 20 February 2012 on border security.
UK Border Agency
Following allegations in November 2011 that security checks were not being implemented properly and that border controls had been relaxed without ministerial approval; the Home Secretary commissioned John Vine, the independent chief inspector of the UK Border Agency, to report on what had happened.
The report summarising the investigation into border security checks was laid before the House of Commons on 20 February 2012.
Shadow Secretary of State for the Home Department, Yvette Cooper, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
