Secretary of State for Transport, Justine Greening, made a statement in the House of Commons on Tuesday 10 January on high-speed rail.

High-speed rail

The Transport Secretary outlined the Government's plans to go ahead with the development and delivery of High Speed 2, a new national high-speed rail network. Further information on the project and the proposed route can be found on the High Speed 2 website. The plans and previous consultations on high speed rail can be found on the Department for Transport website. The Transport Secretary also published a Written Ministerial Statement on High Speed Rail which can be found in Commons Hansard.

Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, Maria Eagle, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
