Since Christmas members of the House of Lords have been busy scrutinising several public bills. Find out where the Lords stands on the latest legislation before they get back to business on Monday 23 April.

Health and Social Care Bill

The bill received royal assent on 27 March to become an act of Parliament (law) and is now on the statute book.

Protections of Freedoms' Bill

This bill returns to the chamber on Tuesday 24 April during the 'ping pong' stage after consideration of Lords' amendments in the Commons took place on 19 March.

 

Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill

Legal Aid completed third reading on Tuesday 27 March and was returned to  the Commons for consideration of Lords' changes on Tuesday 17 April.

The bill returns to the Lords for consideration of the Commons' changes on Monday 23 April (the day the House of Lords returns to business).

Scotland Bill

This bill completed report stage on 28 March and will return to the House of Lords on Tuesday 24 April for more fine-tuning during third reading stage.
