Secretary of State for Defence, Philip Hammond, made a statement in the House of Commons on Monday 14 May on the defence budget and transformation.

The Secretary of State for Defence made a statement on progress in balancing the defence budget and establishing a sustainable equipment programme as part of the work to deliver the vision set out in the strategic defence and security review.

Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, Jim Murphy responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
