Introduction of Lord Deighton

A new Conservative life peer, Paul Deighton, was introduced into the House of Lords today.

Following the short introduction ceremony this morning Lord Deighton can now sit and vote in the House.
Lord Deighton is a former investment banker and is the Chief Executive of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). He has also been appointed Commercial Secretary to the Treasury.
Before his role at LOCOG Lord Deighton was Chief Operating Officer for Europe at Goldman Sachs, where he had worked since 1983. Other roles at Goldman Sachs included Head of European Operation and joint Head of Controllers, he was also a partner in the firm.
