Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Caroline Flint, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
Annual Energy Statement 2012
The coalition agreement between the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties stated that the Government would give an Annual Energy Statement to Parliament which would set out strategic energy policy and guide investment.
Alongside the statement, the Energy Secretary announced the publication of the following:
- DECC: Energy Security Strategy: November 2012 (external site)
- DECC Statutory Security of Supply Report: November 2012 (external site)
- DECC: Electricity Demand Reduction Consultation
and gave more detail on electricity market reform.
