It has been announced that the Labour MP for Croydon North Rt Hon Malcolm Wicks died on Saturday 29 September. Mr Wicks had been an MP for 20 years having been elected in 1992. He was 65

Malcolm Wicks was elected the Member of Parliament for Croydon North West in the general election held in 1992. Following boundary changes the seat was renamed Croydon North in 1997.

A by-election will now take place in Croydon North, further details will be announced once the Writ has been moved.
