House of Lords Reform Bill statement

Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, made a statement in the House of Commons on Monday 3 September on the withdrawal of the House of Lords Reform Bill.
House of Lords Reform Bill
The House of Lords Reform Bill was introduced into the House of Commons on 27 June 2012. The Bill received its second reading on the 9 and 10 July. A Programme motion which would have enabled the Bill to be timetabled was withdrawn by the Governmnet.
In his statement, the Deputy Prime Minister announced that the Government had decided not to proceed with the House of Lords Reform Bill and the Bill has been withdrawn.
