House of Lords recalled following death of Baroness Thatcher

The Lord Speaker has authorised that, in accordance with Standing Order 17, the House will meet at 2.30pm on Wednesday 10 April when tributes will be paid to Baroness Thatcher.

Standing Order 17 gives the Lord Speaker the authority to recall the House if she is satisfied that it is in the public interest.

Recall of the House of Lords

If there is an important development during a recess period, the House of Lords and/or the House of Commons may be recalled.

The House of Lords was last recalled during recess on 11 August 2011 for a statement on public disorder.
