Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, made a statement in the House of Commons on Tuesday 3 December 2013, on the PISA league tables of educational performance. Shadow Secretary of State for Education, Tristram Hunt, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students.
